DeSoto Trail Elementary

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am married to Chris, and we have two wonderful, grown children, Megan, our daughter, and Brice, our son. I graduated from F.S.U. and I am a loyal Seminole fan. I have over 20 years of teaching experience. I have taught First Grade for more than 15 years, and I have been teaching at DeSoto Trail since 2012.

I love teaching First Graders; they are so curious and creative, and they grow so much, and in so many ways! It is so rewarding, and fun, to watch these enthusiastic learners "break the code" as they learn to read, and later develop fluency and understanding of what they have read, learn to print letters and words, and eventually express written thoughts in complete sentences, learn basic addition and subtraction facts, and ultimately become critical thinkers as they solve real-world math problems, and learn about people, places and the past as they interact with and discover the world around them. I am looking forward to a wonderful year!
