I have always had a love for learning and knew from a young age that I wanted to work with children. Growing up as a military child and moving frequently allowed me to see the differences in education across the country and the powerful impact teachers can have on a student’s experience. This inspired my passion for creating meaningful learning opportunities for all students. I graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach before attending Florida State University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Child Development and my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. After graduating, I stayed in Tallahassee to begin my teaching career.
I hold endorsements in ESOL, Reading, and Gifted Education and am currently pursuing an endorsement in Autism Spectrum Disorders. I gained experience teaching kindergarten, first, and second grade during my time in college, then taught kindergarten for a year before moving to fifth grade — a grade level I’ve truly grown to love for the independence, humor, and curiosity students bring each day. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, being outdoors, watching baseball and Formula 1, and spending time with my family, friends, and my dog, Hunter. I love staying active, exploring new places, and making memories wherever life takes me.
